You can find this tags and others at Rosecote.com. Just print the tag on sticker paper or index card stock. Pink Perfume
Pink, pansy, perfume, pearls, and pomp. What two things do they have in common? The answer is the letter "P" and Photoshop! I was in a "pink" mood yesterday, and created a couple of background designs using my Gelli Plate. I combined them with a watercolor background, blended them using several blending modes, then layered the photo elements and this is what I produced! It is exciting to see a "feeling" realized. Hope your feeling in the "pink zone" today. Have a wonderful day and please visit How Sweet the Sound and participate in Pink Saturday with me!

Vintage Rolodex Rotary Cards

Do you still have a Rolodex Rotary Card holder? With the plethora of electronic devices, these are becoming obsolete, but now you might want to use yours again with these "Vintage" Rolodex Rotary Cards! Just print them out on card stock, available from your local office supply store, using your printer. Even if you discarded your rotary card holder, you can use these as note cards or place setting name cards. All you need is a pair of scissors.
This set of 6 cards measure 2 5/8" x 4" each. Click to download them with my compliments. The PDF file is 7.7 mg so it may take a moment to fully load. Enjoy!

Delphiniums
The tall stocks and the vibrant, yet delicate flowers of delphiniums speak to me of the early days of summer. I love the height they attain, standing so tall and straight.
You might also know this flower as larkspur, though it's name is derived from the Greek word for dolphin.
In the Victorian language of flowers, the delphinium symbolizes devoted attachment to your love, big-heartedness, enthusiasm, fun and lightheartedness. Being a daughter of an astronomer, I love the star-shaped petals fluttering in a soft breeze like twinkling stars.
For those of you who celebrate your birthday in the month of July, this flower is your birth flower. Loved creating this composition of delphiniums for you to enjoy!

Paper Dolls
During the summer, my sister and I played paper dolls. We played paper dolls not just for hours, but by the week! Back then paper dolls were available at the 5 & 10. You could purchase a book of paper dolls for just a dime or less. There was always a large selection from which to choose such as movie stars, bride and groom, children, and storybook characters, to name a few. One book of paper dolls usually had at least two dolls and a large accompaniment of costumes.
These Elizabeth Taylor paper dolls were our favorite. We loved the fashionable and elegant clothing, and the way the dolls were posed. We made mansions for these dolls on our beds using books outlining the rooms. We had balls, house maids, swimming pools, parties, and guests for tea. We filled our bedroom with large story books placed on the floor as a wharf and used the big game boxes for yachts. You could barely walk into our room! At night, we carefully folded up everything, stacked it just so that the next morning we could set it all up again quickly for a day of play.
We designed clothing for special occasions using color pencils and crayons. We made dishes and cut them out. We even made scenery for the mansion gardens. We had such fun! Those hours and days spent with our paper dolls and our imaginations are such treasured memories.

Pansies Squared
The playfulness of pansies is captured in this background treatment of multiple squares against a photo of peeling paint. As important as the painting is, the background treatment, and the display of the artwork is just as important. All combine together to generate a mood or feeling.

Celebrating Spring
Warm weather has arrived in Colorado! It is supposed to get up to 90 today. I thought today would be a good day for a little Pansy Sorbet. This is painted in oils on a digitally created background which was printed on artist canvas.

My New Art Tool
I am loving my new art tool! There are some wonderful art apps, including Procreate, Art Studio, Adobe Sketch, and Photoshop Mix. Teaching myself how to use the apps to create art is a challenge, but I can paint in any medium, draw with pencil or pen, or manipulate images with these apps on my iPad. The Apple Pencil makes it much more precise than using fingers.
It appears that I can install some of my favorite digital brushes in some of these programs! As I become more knowledgeable with the software, it will be 2nd nature to use technology as an art tool! What a wonderful age we live in as artists. By the way, the iPad is rose gold and the whole thing keeps me in the Pink Zone no matter what I am doing on it!

Vintage Romance - Rose
Inspiration for artistic endeavors can come from almost anything. This background was inspired by dirt! Working in the rose garden, digging in the dirt, set my mind to thinking about making a digital background framed in dirt! So I set about creating some digital brushes that I could use for dirt. A new painting surface is born! Introducing you to Vintage Romance - Rose. Quick and fun. The background is available as a digital download at Rosecote.com.

Roses on Wallpaper
The neat thing about being a creative is that you can find all kinds of things to paint upon. Wallpaper lends itself to some exciting backgrounds. It doesn't have to be perfect either. Ripped, torn, dirty. All the better.
This is a background I made from some wallpaper, added the writing and grunge. Once painted, I tore the edges and antiqued them.
The painting is mounted to a mat and framed as shown below. This background, without the three painted roses, is available as a digital download to be printed using your own printer. Visit www.rosecote.com.

Rose Post
I love creating vintage looking backgrounds and then painting on them, enhancing some of the background features to integrate with my artwork. This "postcard" exemplifies my technique. The card was digitally created, printed on archival card stock and then mounted to an 8x6" panel. This can be displayed on an easel or hung. Either way, it makes a charming accent.

Raspberry Stain
This is a painting of some roses from my garden. I designed the background on the computer using Photoshop, printed the graphic on archival card stock and painted the roses in oils. I love integrating digital art with traditional art. It gives me so much more to work with. The digital background design is creative in and of itself. Then painting the oil design on it is exciting, uniting the two art forms.
It has been awhile since I have participated in Pink Saturday. I hope you enjoy my contribution. Thank you to Beverly for her dedication. How Sweet the Sound

Roses, Drops, and Lace
This is a digital graphic I made some time ago, but it looked so fresh on this beautiful Easter Morning, I thought it would give a new perspective to the "old is made new".
I love roses, lace, dew drops, the vintage look and putting them all together to create something of beauty.
My wish for you on this Easter Morning is that you find joy, comfort, and beauty in the knowledge that everyday brings His blessing.
